Business, Tourist, and Family visas for China

1.) Passport. (Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay, signed, with at least two blank visa pages.)

2.) Recent photo. (The photo can be taken with a smart phone against a plain white background, and uploaded to the application. It is best to have a neutral expression, and not to be wearing glasses.)

3.) Application: https://consular.mfa.gov.cn/VISA/ (You will need to select your jurisdiction based on the state your driver’s license is issued in. The jurisdiction list is at the bottom of this email. For business visas, you will select the M visa, and tick mark trade. For tourist visa it is the L visa. Family visas are the Q, or S visas.

To start the application, you will need to upload:

1.) A color scan of your passport.
2.) Recent photo.

You will then fill out the application. When you get to the end of the application, it will ask you to upload more documents. The documents that you will upload will depend on the answers to the questions on the application.

Application Next Steps

1. Submit and Monitor: Submit your completed application and check your account regularly for updates.
2. Watch for Approval: Wait until your status updates to "Passport to be submitted."
3. Provide Your Documents: Once approved, we will take your documents to the consulate for you. You must provide:

   • The first two pages of the approval notice
